2 November 1946 – 2 June 1983 (Japanese: 五味 彰夫), was a Japanese photographer. He was born in Kamo, Niigata Prefecture, and experienced severe illness in childhood, suffering from Pott’s disease, a form of tuberculosis that required long-term treatment and significantly affected his physical development.

His photographic work is closely associated with an introspective yet socially attentive approach, shaped in part by his early life experiences. In 1977, he published his major photobook Self and Others, which became a central work of his practice and established his reputation within Japanese photography.

His photographs are held in major international museum collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the British Museum. He died in 1983 at the age of 36.
