Morten Andersen

Morten Andersen
Josef Chladek, June 2015, Vienna PhotoBook Festival

Norwegian photographer who began his career as a photojournalist in the late 1980s. He was introduced to photography as a teenager during secondary school and developed his practice through both education and hands-on experience.

In 1986, Andersen started working at a photo lab, where he remained for eleven years. He has published several photobooks, including Fast City (1999), TOKYO 20002002 (2016), and Fast Cities (2018). Andersen has described the photobook as a complete work in itself, emphasizing its ability to convey a coherent narrative rather than functioning as a simple collection of images.
