Julia Borissova

Born in Tallinn, Estonia, is a photographer based in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She studied at the Academy of Photographic Skills from 2009 to 2010 and later completed the program Photography as a Research at the Foundation of Information and Cultural Projects “FotoDepartament” between 2011 and 2013.

She has participated in numerous international masterclasses and workshops, including programs led by Sergey Maximishin, Jan Grarup, Morten Andersen, Luuk Wilmering, Anouk Kruithof, and Jaap Scheeren, as well as a workshop organized by the international photography magazine FOAM. Her work has been presented in national and international solo and group exhibitions.

Her photographic practice incorporates a wide range of techniques and styles, with a strong emphasis on conceptual approaches. In recent years, she has increasingly focused on photobook projects as her primary artistic format.
