Born in 1983 in Ukraine, is a photographer, visual artist, collector, and archaeologist currently based between Georgia and Germany. His work centers on personal documentary and art projects that examine historical events, material traces, and the relationship between collective and private memory.

He completed the Photography and Human Rights program at New York University. His projects have received numerous awards and grants, including a National Geographic Grant (2011), Magnum Emergency Fund (2012), The Documentary Project Fund (2013), Best Photographer in Ukraine (2013), and the Allard Prize (2016). He was nominated for the Foam Paul Huf Award and the Prix Pictet Award in 2016 and participated in the VII Photo agency mentor program from 2014 to 2016.

His work has been presented internationally in exhibitions, installations, and screenings at museums and art institutions, and published widely in international media. He is the author of seven photobooks, including Shadows of Wormwood, Signatures of War, Barricade: The Euromaidan Revolt, Valery Faminsky V.1945, and The Verge.

He is the founder of WWII/ABC, an ongoing archive and research project dedicated to collecting, preserving, and contextualizing previously unknown World War II negatives and related objects. The collection comprises over 15,000 visual and material records and is presented through exhibitions and publications that approach World War II history from multiple documentary and artistic perspectives.
