Terry Weifenbach

1957, is an American photographer. Born in New York City and raised in Washington, D.C., she graduated from the University of Maryland in 1978 and later lived in New Mexico and California before returning to Washington, D.C. She now lives in Paris.

Her work focuses on plants, animals, and landscape, often using gardens and parks as sites for her images. She has developed a photographic practice centered on observation of natural environments and perception. Alongside her image-making, she worked as a photographic printer for more than two decades.

Photobooks form a central part of her work. Since the publication of In Your Dreams (1997), she has produced numerous books including Lana (2002), Politics of Flowers (2005), Another Summer (2009), Between Maple and Chestnut (2012), Des oiseaux (2019), and Cloud Physics (2021). Her publications have been widely circulated and discussed, and her work is held in collections such as the Center for Creative Photography and the North Carolina Museum of Art.

She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2015.
