1955, is a Dutch photographer. Born in Vogelenzang, the Netherlands, he is self-taught and began photographing at a young age, developing an intuitive and personal approach to the medium.

Working primarily in black and white, his photographs focus on people and places from his immediate surroundings, including friends, relatives, strangers, and landscapes encountered in daily life. His practice is rooted in an intimate and instinctive process, with images reflecting both external subjects and his own experience.

His work spans portraiture, landscape, and still life, often forming interconnected bodies of images. Photobooks play a central role in his practice, including titles such as Heartbeat (1994), Rainchild (2004), and One Tree (2011), in which sequences of photographs are developed as extended, autobiographical projects.
