Born in 1971 in Bristol, United Kingdom, is a British photographer whose practice has developed from early interests in natural observation, music, and close attention to everyday environments. Photography became a means of engaging with curiosity and experience, evolving into a sustained form of expression shaped by sensitivity to surroundings and subject matter.

Over time, his work has increasingly questioned the descriptive limits of photography, moving away from straightforward representation toward approaches that allow ambiguity, chance, and withholding. By reducing visual information and relinquishing control, he seeks to create space for presence and atmosphere, exploring how images can convey emotions and ideas that resist clear depiction. Collaboration and a redistribution of authorship toward subjects themselves are recurring concerns within his practice.

His photographs are held in numerous public and private collections, including Tate, the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of London, Centre National de l’Audiovisuel, CNAP Paris, and Moderna Museet.
