Johannes Ernst - Concrete Remains 軌跡, Self published, 2015, Leipzig
Softcover, otabind, edition of 250, signed. Concept by Johannes Ernst
„Concrete Remains 軌跡 " is a result of Johannes Ernst´s photographic exploration of urban landscapes in Japan. While in Himeji he discovered the remains of a monorail track, which although no longer in use is still structuring the city space.
Following the remnants of the track, he grasps the fascinating contradictions between a utopia of mobility, the banality of its remains and the everyday life of the city.
This monochrome printed publication offers a comparable view of a 50 year old vision, its urban renewal and its aftermath.
