Austrian publishing house specializing in art and architectural literature, based in Vienna. Founded in 1884 by Anton Schroll, the publisher played a significant role in the dissemination of art-historical and modernist discourse in Austria and Central Europe.

Initially licensed to publish decorative art pattern sheets, the company expanded its scope in 1890 to include works of art and architectural theory. Around the turn of the 20th century, Anton Schroll & Co. became a key platform for Viennese Jugendstil and architectural modernism, publishing influential journals such as Der Architekt, Das Interieur, and Die bildenden Künste. The publisher also issued major reference works, including the Austrian Art Topography and the Yearbook of the Imperial Central Commission for the Preservation of Monuments.

Beyond periodicals, the press published important theoretical and scholarly works, including Otto Wagner’s Moderne Architektur, as well as literary and academic editions such as the collected works of Franz Grillparzer and the Dehio handbooks. Ownership of the company changed several times during the 20th century, but its focus on high-quality art and architectural publishing remained central to its identity.
