Bertolt Brecht - Kriegsfibel, Eulenspiegel Verlag, 1955, Berlin

In his Danish exile Brecht collected photos taken from newspapers and wrote short poems to comment on them. Looking at the pictures and reading his words even after more than 60 years is a very touching document. The use of photos and the way of interpreting them including a description of the photo on the left hand page was for sure outstanding for the 50ies - and it still is now! Interesting enough it was published at "Eulenspiegel Verlag - Verlag für Satire and Humor" (publisher for satire and humour, sic!) - then in the GDR.
