Fábio Miguel Roque - Hometown, The Unknown Books, 2015, Sintra, Portugal

Soft cover, numered, signed, and all handwritten text, printrun 70 copies, design by Fábio Miguel Roque, text by Fábio Miguel Roque, poem by Allen Gingsberg.

"Hometown' is a personal photographic project that comes from my interaction between my current situation and the space where I live, and that in some way, I am confined.
The Hometown photographic series arose as a result of having been fired from my employment.  The start of this project happened subconsciously, starting to appear as I became aware I would soon be out of work. Only with the passage of time, did I begin to realize what I was shooting, and the series begain to take shape.
Although I studied photography and worked in the industry part-time, unfortunately photography has never been my main source of income. I have always worked in other areas to afford the day-to-day costs of living and investment in photographic equipment.
Hometown is not exactly a visual diary of my current situation but more a very distinct set of reflections. Reflections on my status of mind, frustrations, and goals. It is also a different way of looking at myself, and at the space in which I live."
