"Following his wife leaving him in the 1970s, Fukase was taking a train to his native town and began photographing ravens perched along the poles and power lines near the tracks. This project became something of an obsession and continured for about 10 years, culminating in the 1986 publication of this book and exhibition of the original prints reproduced in it."
