Born 8 June 1976, is a Belgian artist living and working in Manchester, England. His practice engages with photography in the Internet age, particularly through the appropriation of image-rich online technologies and alternative modes of distribution such as print-on-demand publishing.

He studied sociology at Loughborough University from 1994 to 1997 and at Goldsmiths College from 1997 to 1998. After completing his studies, he worked in London and was influenced early on by documentary photography, notably after visiting the exhibition Cruel and Tender at Tate Modern in 2003, which he later described as life-changing.

Between 2004 and 2010, he collaborated closely with photographer Liz Lock on documentary projects in London and the North West of England, as well as portrait and feature commissions for British newspapers including The Independent and the Financial Times. In 2008, they joined Panos Pictures, becoming Profile photographers in 2010, and left the agency in 2012.

From around 2010 onward, his work became increasingly focused on the nature of photography in the post-Internet era. During this period, many of his projects took the form of print-on-demand photobooks, alongside films and installations, and were shown in large-scale museum surveys in Europe and North America.
