1960, is a Japanese photographer. Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, he graduated from Tokyo Photography College (now Tokyo Visual Arts) in 1982 and has worked as a freelance photographer since. In the same year, he joined the independent gallery Image Shop CAMP, where he began exhibiting his work.

Since the 1980s, he has primarily exhibited at independent galleries and has remained closely connected to self-organized photographic spaces. He founded Gallery Kaido in Tokyo in 1988, later reopening it and continuing to operate it as a venue for exhibitions and publications. His practice has remained rooted in analog processes; he works with film and produces his own prints in the darkroom, shifting from black-and-white to color negatives from 1999 onward.

His work is closely linked to travel and everyday observation, and he has published numerous photobooks, including Distance, Tokyo Candy Box, Slow Boat, Have a Break, and Tin and Chimneys. Many of these publications are self-published, with the artist also responsible for editing, design, and distribution, reflecting an ongoing engagement with independent photobook production.
