"Kannibalen was published in 1967, two years after West German journalists Walter Heynowski and Gerhard Scheumann produced Der Lachende Mann (The Laughing Man) a documentary expose of Siegfried 'Kongo' Müller. Müller, an Ex Nazi was leader of Kommando 52, a white mercenary group, involved in the suppression of the Simba Rebellion in the Congo. Kannibalen book acts as a sobering document of the brutality and cruelty of Müller's and his group's actions."
